Objective assessment of the effects of Epogam on skin smoothness as assessed by profilometry in both normal controls and patients with atopic eczema
Fat Sci Technol 1988; 7: 268-271.

Abstract

Profilometry was used to measure the roughness or a standard area of skin in normal individuals and of a similar area of non-inflamed skin in patients with atopic eczema. The skin roughness in atopic eczema patients was significantly greater than in controls. Treatment for four weeks with six 0.5g capsules/day of Epogam produced a modest reduction in skin roughness in controls and a highly significant reduction in roughness in atopic eczema patients. At the end of the Epogam treatment, skin roughness in patients and controls was similar.
