Abstract

There is now a very solid scientific basis for the idea that treatment with GLA is likely to have a major role in clinical medicine. The enthusiasm with which EPO is being tested by orthodox medical doctors in leading medical schools indicates that, contrary to what might have been expected, there has been relatively little resistance to this nutritional approach. If a similar approach, based on placebo-controlled studies, is used for other nutrients, orthodox medicine is unlikely to be antag onistic. Advocates of nutritional treatment therefore have an ethical responsibility to carry out their studies and frame their arguments in sound ways that will be found acceptable to those with scientific training.
